Ho Chi Minh City, July 14, 2025
A significant meeting was held at the headquarters of The Institute of Studies of International Education and Economics (ISIEE) with representatives from Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy (BMU). The meeting was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Loan, President of ISIEE, and the Institute’s Academic Board. Representing BMU was Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hang, Director of Center for Foreign Languages & Information Technology
The working session focused on the collaborative plan to implement the Unis@English program. This program, utilizing ISIEE’s innovative OMO (Online-Merge-Offline) model, is designed to enhance the listening and speaking skills of students through instruction with native-speaking teachers. The initiative aims to create a breakthrough in elevating the English proficiency of students in the health sciences.
The Unis@English program, based on the OMO model, flexibly combines online learning with Native English Speakers and offline classes with Vietnamese teachers through a dual teaching method. This solution provides students with direct learning opportunities with Native English Speakers, with a special focus on improving their Listening and Speaking skills. The ultimate goal is for students to achieve the B1 output standard as set by the Vietnamese Foreign Language Competency Framework.
The meeting concluded successfully with a strong consensus from both parties. As a next step, the ISIEE Institute will provide a sample program for BMTU to review and experience before a final decision is made and a pilot phase is implemented.
This strategic partnership between the ISIEE Institute and Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy (BMU) is poised to deliver a high-quality, effective English training program, contributing significantly to the competitiveness of future doctors and pharmacists in the context of global integration.
