ISIEE Pilots the OMO Teaching Model in Vinh Long Province

Continuing its mission to bring international-standard English education to rural areas, the Institute of Studies of International Education and Economics (ISIEE) has successfully completed a series of pilot OMO classes at An Qui Primary School and An Dien Primary School in Thanh Phu Commune, Vinh Long Province (new).

The pilot sessions took place in late January. Students had the opportunity to interact directly with native English-speaking teachers and practice their listening and speaking skills right in their own classrooms.

An Overview of the Experimental English Lesson Implementing the OMO Model at An Qui Primary School

Thanh Phu Commune is an area where access to native English teachers is limited. To address this challenge, ISIEE introduced the OMO (Online–Merge–Offline) model, which has received strong professional support. The model connects in-class Vietnamese teachers with native teachers through an online ClassIn platform. This allows students to practice listening and speaking skills every week without being affected by geographic distance.
Through the pilot lessons, parents were able to see firsthand how this new teaching approach works. The lively classroom atmosphere, along with the students’ excitement and growing confidence when speaking with native teachers, clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of the OMO model.

Students Demonstrate Enthusiasm and Confidence in Communicating in English During the Experimental OMO-Based Lesson

School leaders expressed strong support for implementing the English program under the OMO model. It is seen as an effective solution to improve students’ communication skills while aligning with the Government’s direction under Decision 2371/QD-TTg, which outlines the roadmap for making English the second language in schools.

The OMO model facilitates meaningful connections between students and native-speaking teachers, effectively overcoming geographical barriers.

The success of this pilot program in Vinh Long Province (new) serves as an important foundation for ISIEE to continue its mission of expanding knowledge and ensuring equal access to high-quality education for students in all regions.
